Parking Brake Cables

Madison Power Systems is a master distributor for Orscheln® Products. We can design and custom build brake cables for most applications, in-house, with minimal lead times.

Park brake cables are available in standard 1/8" and 3/16" core sizes, as well as custom configurations. Orscheln® is the leader in providing high performance parking brake cables with superior corrosion resistance and high efficiency for both On-highway and Off-highway applications. Orscheln® specializes in providing systems to the OEM's which includes the brake cable with an over-center park brake lever (or foot pedal).

Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) cables utilize PBT coated strands, PBT liners, patented seals with internal and external features and boundary lubrication. All of these features combine to give Orscheln® cables far better corrosion protection than ordinary galvanized constructions.

1/8" PBT Brake Cables: 1/8" PBT cables are designed for use in light to medium duty applications. These cables are rated at 1,200 pounds or less. Since the components used on these cables are common, we are able to offer lower costs and shortened lead times.

3/16" PBT Brake Cables: 3/16" PBT cables offer the same qualities as the 1/8" cables. However, this size of cable is recommended for heavier loads up to 3,000 pounds. Many of the characteristics described in the cable design section will help you in determining which size of cable is right for your application.
